Dr David Gordon is an Associate Professor of Marketing, with over 27 years of experience in the international Higher Education sector. He also has over 25 years of experience in commerce (IBM, Sage, Pegasus), developed 2 small businesses, and spent over 20 years recruiting graduates and junior managers. His experience spans multiple industry sectors, at a country and global level. Dr Gordon has been a consultant in the formation of the powerPhD, recognising the salient and impactful academic knowledge and learning that is valuable in a commercial career, from guiding and leading of teams, to the formation of strategy. “Learning is a journey, and it is critical that we acquire skills and talents in this process, but also develop new ways of thinking, in a commercial:conceptual way. Dr Michael Baron has over 20 years of Experience in IT Project Management, Data Analytics & Digital Transformation Consulting as well as Managing, Developing and Delivering both Postgraduate and Undergraduate Universities Programs as well as supervising Research Projects & Degrees.
In 2003, he founded Baron Consulting (www.baronconsulting.com.au) – one of Australia’s leading Consulting, & Training Agencies in the field of Digital Transformation. The consulting, and training services are currently available in Australia (Melbourne and Sydney), China, Singapore and New Zealand.

Dr Clayton Davies is an experienced teacher and researcher who works with UK universities. Currently his prime role is that of College Principal of St Jordan’s College, a partnership formed by senior UK academics. His most recent publication – The Pedagogy of Business Schools, published by Ethics Press, Cambridge is an innovative and insightful re-examination of the nature and relevance of teaching in contemporary business schools. Dr Davies can draw upon a twenty-five-year career as a practitioner working at the most senior levels of management and an equally august career in academia to inform his work. This combination enables and informs him to develop tailored and contemporarily focused educational products that directly answer current challenges in the field of organisational life and management practice.
The PowerPhD has been developed to address the research deficit in contemporary management practice. The burgeoning growth of information, analysis, and data now available to the managerial profession demands that managers meet this challenge with ever more advanced critical and evaluative skills. This is need is particularly acute when managers are called upon to address the relevance and applicability of new knowledge. The PowerPhD delivers these skills.

Professor Rodgers’s research interests focus on informality within state-business relations, non-market strategies and entrepreneurship and has published in leading journals such as Journal of World Business, Work, Employment and Society, Management Learning, Management International Review, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Public Management Review, Human Resource Management Review, Journal of Business Research, International Marketing Review, Entrepreneurship and Regional Development, Industrial Relations Journal and Global Networks.
Professor Dr. Peter rodgers
Currently, Rosie supports the Swiss Business School/ATMS, Dubai, UAE, with their outstanding DBA programme and research supervision of DBA students.She also works with the Business School, Exeter University, UK, in leading Masterclasses on Innovation and Leadership for Business Executives, where Rosie originally gained her own PhD in the micropolitics of organisations. Rosie is Emeritus Professor of Leadership and Innovation, having held multiple professorships in Leadership & innovation at top UK Universities, notably, University of West London Business School, London, UK; Institute for Research in Education(IRED), University of Bedfordshire, Bedford, UK and at St Mary’s University, London, UK. Rosie founded her first consultancy in 2005, Adaptive Strategies Ltd, to provide high level change management expertise to Government led-system transformation projects in the UK. In 2010, Rosie founded the Academy for Innovation Ltd (AfI) to address the unmet need of affordable, research-led, postgraduate programmes offered in-house and regionally in the UK. Her successful vision was to build accredited leadership and innovation capacity at scale across public sector organisations through their participation in AfI Innovation Networks and postgraduate courses. Today, she focuses exclusively on international consultancy, serving clients primarily in the UK and Middle East with her expertise on policy and programme design for change, innovation and leadership initiatives. She is the creator of the unique methodology of ‘deliberate design for impact & innovation’ (2D2i) distilled from design thinking, that offers a scalable approach to problem-solving and value-creation for organisations of any size or sector, globally.
Dr. Rosie Raffety
Chris is the Head of Postgraduate Student Experience. This is a strategic role supporting and learning the postgraduate agenda across the University. He is leading the Postgraduate Student Experience Survey across the University to ensure that the excellent work London Met is doing is demonstrated through postgraduate student feedback.

Prof Dr Peter Hill is a Professor of Public Policy and Project Management. In addition to being a Professorial Research Fellow with the Parliament Street think tank he’s a Visiting Professor at a number of U.K. and international Business Schools.
Dr. Peter Hill
Konstantinos holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance and an MSc in Marketing and Communication. He received his PhD from Bayes Business School, City University of London in 2010. He has published in world-class scientific journals in the Financial Times 50, such as Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Business Venturing and Strategic Organization. His expertise spans the fields of industrial economics, strategy, entrepreneurship and organization theory. For 15 years, he has worked as an academic or program director at Bayes Business School, Tilburg University, Kingston University London, London Metropolitan University and the Russian Presidential Academy. He has taught extensively MBA, exec-MBA and DBA students, winning several teaching awards. Konstantinos is a Fellow of the British Higher Education Academy and a former Research Fellow at the Center for Innovation Research in the Netherlands. He is also a member of the Academy of Management and the European Academy of Management. Prior to academia, he worked as Research Manager at the Financial Times and as Business Intelligence Manager at Winmark Ltd, both in London. He has worked as a consultant directly or indirectly for companies like Ricco, Heineken, Merck, General Electric, Sysdoc, the Forest Stewardship Council and others.
Dr. Konstantinos Pitsakis
Sara has extensive leadership experience in industry. Her prior career was that of an entrepreneur in the field of higher education provision. In her position of founder and managing director of a college she gained tremendous knowledge and experience, being responsible for 2000 students (internal and external) and developed 75 members of staff. As a former business practitioner, she brings authenticity, creativity and an awareness of a wide range of educational practices in HE.
Sara is an enthusiastic teacher with more than 25 years of experience – she proactively and continuously seeks innovative and cutting-edge methods to engage the students, promote deep learning and deliver high-quality teaching. She has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate modules, with her teaching evaluations (SET scores) having been consistently in the top 10% of all teaching staff in NUBS. Sara achieved her fellowship of Advance HE (FHEA) through the Nottingham recognition scheme and was nominated at the University Staff Oscars in 2018 in the ‘Teaching: Most Inspiring’ category.
Sara won a fully funded scholarship at Loughborough University Business School and completed her Ph.D. at the School of Business and Economics in 2018. Her research examined knowledge processes within the cross-boundary collaboration of the large bureaucratic organisations and small/medium sized firms in the video games industry.

Strategic Guidance: The Academic Advisory Board provides strategic guidance and direction to the PowerPhD Institute, advising on academic programs, research initiatives, and institutional priorities. Board members offer insights, recommendations, and perspectives to inform decision-making and strategic planning processes.
2. Curriculum Development: The board plays a key role in curriculum development, ensuring that academic programs are rigorous, relevant, and aligned with industry standards and best practices. Board members review program proposals, course materials, and learning outcomes, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
3. Quality Assurance: The Academic Advisory Board oversees quality assurance processes to maintain the academic integrity and standards of the PowerPhD Institute. Board members review assessment methods, grading criteria, and evaluation processes to ensure fairness, consistency, and rigor in academic programs.
4. Faculty Development: The board supports faculty development initiatives, including recruitment, training, and professional development opportunities. Board members provide mentorship, guidance, and expertise to faculty members to enhance teaching effectiveness, research productivity, and academic excellence.

Selection Process of the Academic Advisory Board:
- Identification of Candidates: The selection process begins with the identification of potential candidates who possess the expertise, experience, and qualifications necessary to serve on the Academic Advisory Board. Candidates may be nominated by current board members, faculty members, industry partners, or through an open application process.
- Review of Qualifications: The nominations are reviewed by the Board Nomination Committee, which evaluates the qualifications, credentials, and contributions of each candidate. The committee assesses factors such as academic achievements, research expertise, industry experience, leadership capabilities, and alignment with the mission and values of the PowerPhD Institute.
- Interview and Evaluation: Shortlisted candidates undergo a thorough interview and evaluation process conducted by the Board Nomination Committee. During the interview, candidates are assessed based on their knowledge, insights, and vision for the future of academic and research programs at the PowerPhD Institute. The committee considers factors such as communication skills, collaborative abilities, and commitment to academic excellence.
- Reference Checks: The committee conducts reference checks to verify the professional reputation, integrity, and suitability of the candidates for board membership. References may include colleagues, supervisors, mentors, or other individuals who can provide insights into the candidate’s qualifications and character.
- Final Selection: Based on the interview, evaluation, and reference checks, the Board Nomination Committee makes recommendations for the final selection of candidates to serve on the Academic Advisory Board. The recommendations are presented to the Board of Directors for approval.
Appointment and Reappointment Process:
- Initial Appointment: Once approved by the Board of Directors, selected candidates are formally appointed to the Academic Advisory Board. The appointments are made for a specified term, typically ranging from two to four years, with the possibility of renewal.
- Orientation and Onboarding: Newly appointed board members undergo an orientation and onboarding process to familiarize themselves with the mission, values, policies, and operations of the PowerPhD Institute. They receive relevant materials, resources, and information to support their role and responsibilities as board members.
- Performance Evaluation: Board members’ performance and contributions are regularly evaluated based on their attendance, engagement, participation, and effectiveness in fulfilling their duties. Performance evaluations may be conducted annually or at specified intervals by the Board Nomination Committee or Board of Directors.
- Reappointment Consideration: At the end of their term, board members may be considered for reappointment based on their performance, contributions, and continued alignment with the needs and priorities of the PowerPhD Institute. The Board Nomination Committee reviews their performance and makes recommendations for reappointment to the Board of Directors.
- Decision on Reappointment: The Board of Directors considers the recommendations of the Board Nomination Committee and makes decisions regarding the reappointment of board members. Factors such as demonstrated commitment, active participation, strategic insights, and contributions to the mission and goals of the PowerPhD Institute are taken into account.
- Notification of Reappointment: Board members who are reappointed receive formal notification from the Board of Directors, along with any relevant terms, conditions, or expectations for their continued service on the Academic Advisory Board. Their reappointment is announced to the institute community, stakeholders, and the public as appropriate.
